We take great pride in making sure that every engagement we facilitate is the perfect fit for both our clients and professional partners.
That is why we use Credence, a British background check company, to verify the recent history of any new professionals joining our network.
This is standard practice and only requires you to complete a few forms, with Credence taking care of the rest – once that is all taken care of, you are clear to start on your project.
The vast majority of professionals in our network will have to fill out two consent forms and provide up to three kinds of documentation, details of which can be found below.
Consent forms:
- Standard consent form – this merely allows Credence to contact your employers or clients from the previous three years to confirm your professional history.
- Country-specific consent form – this document allows our partners to carry out a simple criminal record check in your country of domicile.
Other required information and documentation:
- National ID number – this can allow a deeper background check in some jurisdictions and might be requested in certain instances. Examples include a Social Security number in the United States or a Swedish national ID number.
- Letters of reference – these give us details of your work over the past three years so we will need:
- Contact information for a chosen referee from each of our employers over the past three years.
- Contact information for your accountant or bookkeeper if you were self-employed or an independent contractor. Contact details for key clients are acceptable if you prepare your own accounts.
- Reference letters and written email confirmations are also acceptable.
If you are a professional with a high public or media profile, our partners can use media reports, public records and other filings to verify your employment history. If you believe this applies to you, don't hesitate to get in touch with Credence at support@credence.co.uk.
Please get in touch with our team at support@hyphen.group if you have any questions about this process or encounter any problems.
