The Essentials

Don't have time to read the full handbook? Here are the top 10 things you need to know now that you are part of the Hyphen professional network:

1. Familiarise yourself with what you are eligible to claim.

Make sure to review our policies on expenses, travel and chargeable working hours so that you don’t end up out of pocket. These policies will apply to all contractors unless you are presented with any client-specific documentation and policies.

2. Complete your onboarding paperwork as quickly as possible.

Failure to fill out a few simple documents and send over digital copies of official identification could delay the onboarding process and push back your start date so please provide this information as early as you can.

3. File your monthly timesheets and financial documents through Chronos.

Set up your account for our timekeeping, invoicing and expenses platform as soon as you can and make sure to submit your month-end documents through the app by the first working day of the following month.

4. Make sure your invoice contains 12 must-have details.

If you choose to produce your own financial documents, please include all the details we need so that we can swiftly approve and process your invoice.

5. Always respect client confidentiality.

Please don't post anything about your project on LinkedIn or other social media platforms without getting the permission of both Hyphen and the client first.

6. Protect your - and the client's - data at all times.

Don't save project data on your personal devices without prior approval from a Hyphen or client representative. You also get access to a host of digital tools as a part of our network that will enable you to share your work safely and securely.

7. Check your paperwork is ready before going on site.

Obtaining an appropriate visa and ensuring your passport is up to date are essential to starting your engagement on time. We have a section on visa protocols for several Middle East countries if you have not worked in the region before.

8. Use a virtual credit card to pay on-site costs where possible.

You should set up your Revolut Business account to activate your VCC and download your card to your phone so that you can make purchases. Please note professionals of certain nationalities will not receive a VCC due to Revolut Business regulations.

9. Keep your receipts for expenses.

To receive reimbursement, you must provide us with a digital copy of a receipt. If using your VCC, take a photo in the app and submit it right away; non-VCC holders must provide a photo or PDF with their month-end expenses claim.

10. Ensure no data or equipment is retained after completion.

Please delete any client-sensitive or confidential information from your devices and return any equipment provided to you as soon as possible after your engagement ends.

We hope this handbook gives you all the information you need to have an enjoyable and successful engagement with us. Should you require further assistance or if you have any questions, please get in touch with your Hyphen point of contact or email support@hyphen.group
